Apps for school use
Class Dojo
As we strive to enhance communication between our school and your home, we highly recommend using Class Dojo. This app serves as a vital tool in bridging the gap between teachers and families, ensuring you are kept informed about your child's progress, school events, and daily activities. Class Dojo makes it easy to stay connected with what's happening in your child's class directly through your smartphone or computer, fostering a seamless flow of information that is essential for supporting your child's educational journey.
As a school we need to communicate with our parents and for us to be able to do that we have chosen an app called Class Dojo. It is really easy to use, it's free to download (there is an extra charge if you want to use it at home with your child )
Parent Mail
We are using Parent Mail as a payment system. It is a very straightforward application that can be used on any smart device/computer.
For learning we use the following apps:
Purple Mash
At Broomhill we use Purple Mash both in our computing sessions, as well as to enhance other areas of learning such as digital art. Purple Mash is a learning platform where all children are able to access their own profile at home to complete tasks and activities.

Doodle Maths
Doodle Maths is an app that the children can use in school and at home. The app supports the development of their number, calculation, shape and measure skills. Children have their own login from Reception and are all encouraged to “doodle” for ten minutes each day. Each child has a personalised learning programme that they systematically work through. Doodle automatically targets tricky topics, fills learning gaps and consolidates knowledge. Teachers and parents are also able to set extra challenges!

Bug Club
We use a systematic synthetic phonics programme called Bug Club Phonics which has been validated for use by the DfE. This is a fully interactive programme that children can access both in school and at home and includes e-books and games to help support children to become confident at decoding words. Your child will have their own account with a username and password which they can log in to and access the items the class teacher has allocated to them:

Tapestry - for EYFS only
We use Tapestry as a secure online learning journal to record and celebrate your child’s learning and development. It allows staff to share photos, observations, and progress updates, giving you a real insight into your child’s day at school. Parents can access Tapestry at any time to view learning experiences, comment on observations, and work in partnership with us to support their child’s development.
Please get in contact with the school office or the class teacher is you have any issues accessing any of the platforms above.
